De games die gebaseerd zijn op de film Jura ic Park vielen meestal tegen en moesten het vooral van de naam hebben dan van de gameplay. Met Jura ic Park: Operation Genesis lijkt hier echter verandering in te komen. Het spel heeft namelijk veel weg van het populaire Zoo Tycoon en laat de speler een soort parkmanager spelen. Zo moet je opzoek gaan naar amberstenen met DNA van de dino's, kun je dit DNA klonen en uiteindelijk staan er 25 dino's tot je beschikking die je in het park kunt neerzetten. En hoe meer beestjes des te beter, want de bezoekers van het park zijn veeleisen en je zult alle zeilen moeten bijzetten om ze vrolijk te houden.There are a few odd things that we encountered in our build of the PC game (not the least of which is the fact that despite our best attempts the build wouldn't allow us to take screenshots from it which is why this preview is illustrated by PR shots). While driving around in the park we could literally go through trees with no damage but the trees swayed when we went through them. The game itself seems a little bit slow at times in our 1024x768 32bit resolution on our 2.2 Ghz-GeForce 3 500 video card. There were also a few times when the AI of the dinosaurs made them literally stopped in their tracks, making them easy pickings for our trank gun. Finally, we have to say that it's weird to see the Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler characters actually helping you to run the park in the game when in the movies it's clear that they don't like the existence of Jura ic Park itself.Qua graphics is Operation Genesis echter meer dan een Zoo Tycoon kloon, het park is namelijk volledig in 3D. Deze titel zal dan ook vooral Rollercoaster Tycoon en Zoo Tycoon fans aanspreken, zoals je in deze preview kunt lezen.
