Again, this is one person at Blizzard's take as reported to me, I haven't seen any actual memos or anything. It's a shame, though, as I can't imagine how they could po ibly wrap up all the new content, features, artwork, music, etc. etc. that's planned AND fix the bugs (that are barely noticeable when you're playing for free, but not acceptable in a pay-to-play game from my perspective) in just a month and a half. It looks to me like Blizzard will likely release a game that's 10x more finished than OTHER games of the genre, yet won't actually live up to the standard of Blizz games in terms of being complete. What a shame.Het probleem met zoveel gehaast is dat de game dan niet 'Blizzard-af' kan zijn, iets waar alle games van Blizzard bekend om staan. Veel van de geplande inhoud, features, artwork, muziek etc. zitten er dan ook nog niet in, om al helemaal niet te spreken over de bugsfixes.
Overigens, de opbrengsten van een MMORPG komen pas na 1+ jaar binnen, hoe kan Vivendi dan haar '4e kwartaal' van 2004 redden? Bovendien eindigt het fiscale jaar op 31 december. Het is dan ook vreemd dat Vivendi alles zou af laten hangen van Blizzards World of Warcraft. Zeker als je je bedenkt dat Vivendi een enorm bedrijf is, van recordlabels tot aan telefoonmaatschappijen...
