Malice was destijds de Xbox game die de aandacht trok, met schitterende textures en erg leuk ogende gameplay. Het gros van de gamers zag de game erg zitten, en een ware hype ontstond rond dit spel.

En toen was het ineens verdwenen. Waar iedereen de afgelopen E3 een speelbare Malice had verwacht, was de game er niet. Tot overmaat van ramp stond de game ook niet meer op de releaselijst van Xbox games en dus waar was Malice gebleven?

Een belletje van Computer & Videogames naar Malice developper Argonaut bracht een hoop opheldering: er wordt nog steeds aan Malice gewerkt, aan zowel een Xbox als een PS2 versie. De PS2 versie zal niet zomaar een poort worden van de Xbox versie, maar zal de Sony's hardware 'tot het uiterste' benutten.

Ook werd bekend wie de game gaat uitgeven: te weten Vivendi Universal. After months of speculation and confusion, it has finally been revealed that Vivendi Universal is to publish Argonaut's graphically stunning Malice. The hammer-wielding heroine has seemingly been pa ed from pillar to post in the last few months, from Microsoft championing it as a shining paradigm of the kind of software only Xbox is capable of producing, to Argonaut stating it had multiformat plans for the title.

Out of the obfuscatory mists of rumour and di imulation, however, has shone a shining beacon of truth in the shape of Argonaut's somewhat stodgy financial report to the City. As part of several announcements, Argonaut gave the first official confirmation of the publishing deal with Vivendi, stating the game would now be published on both Xbox and PS2, with work on the latter already underway. Whether Microsoft will be happy about this is another matter entirely, but as far as gamers are concerned the more formats the better. In hetzelfde artikel is te lezen dat de drang voor multiplatform van Malice waarschijnlijk nog niet is afgelopen. Er is vermoedelijk ook een Gamecube versie onderweg. Over de releasedate van Malice op de Xbox of PS2 is nog niets bekend.
