For those of you whom are out of touch with FPS terminology, a "bot" is a computer controlled player which can play on both your team or against you on the opposing team. The Unreal Tournament bots have awesome AI (Artificial Intelligence) allowing them to have near-human player characteristics. In other words, there are times when you question whether you're playing against a human or a bot... they're that good.
