Dankzij een add-on gaat het toch mogelijk worden SWAT 3 in multiplayer te spelen. De release van deze add-on laat nog wel even op zich wachten tot de herfst.BELLEVUE, WA., (February 18, 2000)-Sierra Studios today announced SWAT 3: Battle Plan, the multi-player add-on to SWAT(tm) 3: Close Quarters Battle(tm), recently nominated for Computer Gaming World magazine's 1999 "Action Game of the Year." Scheduled to ship Q3 2000, Battle Plan(tm) will allow gamers to experience the real world of L.A.P.D. SWAT by deploying actual SWAT weapons and tactics in new missions and multi-player modes. A free multi-player upgrade will also be made available online for gamers who already own SWAT3: CQB(tm). Battle Plan will deliver six more missions and multi-player capability to the cutting-edge SWAT 3: CQB, which is highly praised for its extremely accurate 3D tactical simulation and superior artificial intelligence. Battle Plan will support up to ten players on a LAN or over the Internet. The multi-player game will offer gamers several choices; create an alliance with the opposing team and attempt to complete overall objectives during a Co-Op game, play Death Match, or play a tournament style game in Competitive mode. Also included in Battle Plan will be a proprietary level editor and skins editors, which will allow the player to create their own levels and customize their character and weapons. More information will be available online later this month.
