Het speciale personage heet Murphy en wordt bestuurd door de speler met de Wii U-controller. Murphy kan items oppakken en objecten uit de weg ruimen zodat andere personages vrij door kunnen lopen.
Ubisoft liet weten dat in totaal vijf spelers de game op Wii U kunnen spelen. Naast de speler die de Wii U GamePad gebruikt, kunnen de andere spelers Wii-remotes of de nieuwe Classic Controller Pro gebruiken.
