PlanetWeb's EGBrowser is de webbrowser die voor de PS2 ontwikkeld is. Deze browser is ook al gebruikt in de Noord-Amerikaanse Dreamcast. Op 29 maart moet deze browser dan eindelijk in Japan in de winkels liggen.
Deze browser heeft een belachelijke prijs van 3800 yen, wat ongeveer 70 guldens is. Daarbij komt ook nog eens de aanschaf van een USB modem. De browser kan ook nog POP3 en SMTP email verzorgen, evenals MP3's afspelen. Helaas kan je mp3 files nog niet opslaan op de (8 MB) memorycard, maar dit zal in de toekomst wel geimplanteerd worden.Ergosoft, a subsidiary of Koei, announced today that it will ship its PlayStation 2 browser on March 29 in Japan. Called the EGBrowser, the browser is developed by PlanetWeb, the company that developed the Dreamcast Web browser for the North American Dreamcast. With the use of a USB modem, users can browse the Internet with the PlayStation 2. The browser can also handle POP and SMTP mail, as well as play MP3s. This version will not allow you to save MP3 files onto the 8MB memory card, but that feature will be available in a later version.
