Verant kennen we allemaal van EverQuest, ook al een groot succes. Deze jongens weten dus wel hoe ze een goede game moeten programmeren.In PlanetSide, you'll be able to play on the side of one of three empires as you aid in taking over the world, represented by a series of continents, and split up by a large set of smaller regions. You'll still be fragging opponents and taking names, but what you do will affect the shape of a world as a whole, and unlike other online FPS titles, the effects will make permanent changes in the landscape. Boundaries will change, entire continents will fall under the control of certain empires, and leaders will be christened among the burning rubble. Of course, your corporation will also be one step closer to controlling the known world, so you can always pat yourself on the back for aiding in making the world safe for superbowl commercials and commerce.Dit is een keer wat anders dan de "standaard" FPS games zoals Half-Life en het nog uit te komen Doom 3.
