Bij stomped hebben ze een interview gescoord met 'lead-designer' van Deep Space 9 : The Fallen, namelelijk Tony Barnes.

We vragen ons allemaal weleens af wat het nut is van al die Star Trek games en ook bij Stomped koesterden ze deze vraag:

Stomped: There seems to have been a ton of Star Trek games released over the past couple of years now from many different developers and publishers. Is it daunting to have all that product out there already when you are about to release The Fallen?

Barnes: The experience we've provided with DS9: The Fallen is such a unique one, that it stands out as not only a great Star Trek game, but a great action/adventure game by itself. With the depth of story, diversity in gameplay, and the rich visual / aural tapestry we're presenting, DS9: The Fallen should entice many players, not just Star Trek fans, regardle of previous purchases.

Als je het nieuws rond DS9 heb gevolgd, dan weet je als geen ander dat gebruik wordt gemaakt van de Unreal Tournament Engine. Deze engine bevat een zeer goede en uitgebreide 'Network Module' en die zat er dus voor niks bij. ( Mag ook wel voor de prijzen die Epic vangt voor deze engine ) Echter wordt van deze mogelijkheid geen gebruik gemaakt:

Stomped: Even though The Fallen is using the Unreal Tournament engine, the game will not feature a multiplayer mode out of the box. Why was the decision made to not have multiplay and is it po ible we could see it in a patch after the game is released?

Barnes: The decision was made some time ago to concentrate on the best po ible single-player experience. With the size of this game, it has taken an enormous effort to bring together the game at the level of quality we aspire to here. Diverting attention to properly tuning a multiplayer experience would have impacted the single-player game and more-than-likely neither mode would have benefited from the lack of focus.

Deze game staat op de planning voor Oktober, mmm das deze maand !
