Bioware staat de laatste tijd wel erg in de belangstelling. Niet zo erg vreemd ook omdat deze developer momenteel tot één van de beste ter wereld mag worden gerekend. Zo bewees het succes van de Baldurs Gate serie dit al en worden we binnenkort verrast met de eerste StarWars RPG.

Dit keer dus geen productie van LucasArts zelf, maar een game gemaakt door de artiesten van Bioware zelf.

TheStar.com schreef een erg goed artikel over Bioware waarin we ook wat nieuwe facts te lezen krijgen over deze nieuwe game.A bigwig at Lucas Arts, which manages the Star Wars brand, was an admirer of Bioware's games and asked the guys if they would produce a Star Wars role-playing game.

Although Lucas Arts has developed a number of titles over the past few years, the game commi ioned from Bioware will be the first role-playing entry in the Star Wars realm.

``It's a dream project to get to make a role-playing game in that universe,'' said Muzyka. ``We're big fans.''

The title has a tremendous built-in draw, said Aihoshi.

``It's a huge property in terms of interest factor. It's the kind of title that because it's Star Wars, somebody is more likely to buy it than an equally good title that they haven't heard of.''

While most details of the game are well-kept secrets - it's not due to be released until the middle of 2002 - Muzyka, the fan, can't resist divulging a few.

``You'll get to play a Jedi in the old republic, a few thousand years before the movies (take place) . . . the peak period where there were lots of Jedi running around,'' he said.Hoe Verant het StarWars universum neer gaat zetten is voor mij nog maar de vraag. Van Bioware verwacht ik in ieder geval erg veel.
