De relatie tu en ontwikkelaar Running with Sci ors en uitgever Whiptail Interactive lijkt niet meer wat het geweest is. RWS heeft namelijk een persbericht verstuurd waarin het laat weten dat men zelf Postal 2: Share The Pain, The Multiplayer Edition zal uitgeven. Waarom Whiptail deze editie niet uitgeeft staat niet vermeld, maar wel kunnen we lezen dat Vince Desi verbaasd is door uitgevers die niet zien dat de ontwikkelaars het belangrijkste zijn. Hoe het ook zij, de Postal 2 multiplayer editie zal binnenkort uitkomen.Gary Coleman, star of POSTAL 2 and the new Multiplayer, said, "Running With Sci ors cut out the middleman with some serious vengeance! Now, they'll self-publish and we'll hit the ground running and won't stop 'til the ground tires out!"

"Share The Pain is so completely off-the-wall," added Desi, "that the Multiplayer even mocks gameplay by introducing SNATCH, RWS's version of Capture-The-Flag featuring the POSTAL Babes... Obviously, our trusting Share The Pain to anyone else wasn't an option we could live with."
