Na alle onzekerheid omtrent Tribes en de sluiting van Dynamix, werd donderdag dan toch het volgende deel in Tribes reeks bekend gemaakt. Tribes: Vengeance wordt ontwikkeld door Irrational Games, en zal zich deze keer veel meer focussen op het singleplayer gedeelte dan bij oude Tribes games het geval was. IGN interviewde de mannen achter Tribes: Vengeance, en stelde ze wat vragen over het verhaal en de veranderingen in de gameplay.IGNPC: So does that mean we'll be seeing a lot more vehicles that we didn't see in Tribes because they were farther out. Chris Mahnken: Not necessarily. The vehicles in Tribes 2 were extremely powerful, and basically took over battlefields. There are definitely going to be vehicles in the game, they will be an important part and they will be fun, but they will not be the be all, end all for taking over a map. The best players will go as infantry. You've got a jetpack on and armor, so you're basically a vehicle. The armors are going to be the most efficient way most of the time for a highly skilled player to get from point A to point B and achieve their objective. For somebody who's not as skilled, a vehicle may be a better choice for them to get their and perform the same action. Tribes: Vengeance lijkt in goede handen te zijn bij Irrational, maar helaas zullen alle fans nog wel even geduld moeten hebben; Tribes: Vengeance zal pas in 2004 verschijnen.
