At some level, the AI *is* the game in a single player environment. (Other people than me said this a while back.) Right now, the AI versus the player's toolset within the environment sums up the game. I think in the future, coupled with voice synthesis (which will allow AI's a much broader range of responses), games will gain a lot more depth. The player will have more options essentially.
