Gisteren kon je al lezen dat Blizzard keiharde maatregelen neemt tegen mensen die de MapHack gebruiken. Vandaag komt de maker van de MapHack aan het woord. Het gaat om een 14 jarige jongen uit Los Angeles. De MapHack zorgt ervoor dat je ziet wat je tegenstander aan het doen is. David Kachlon, zoals de jongen heet, is tegen het ma aal gebruik van de maphack, maar als alleen hij het doet is het geen probleem.

Toch hoort David K. ook credits te krijgen voor zijn optreden, want hij stuurde Blizzard zijn hack, samen met oplo ingen.You are probably the most intelligent 14 year old I've met, and I really respect that you sent blizzard your hack along with a solution to fix it, but do you plan to continue to develop hacks? Will you continue to send them to blizzard when you do? What are your plans?

I will continue to search for exploits on Warcraft III and notify Blizzard of them. At the moment I don't plan to publicly release any future hacks.

I would like to note that David was overwhelmingly cool to talk with. A very level person for any age, and impre ively so at age 14. I am personally glad he is the pioneer of the hacks, instead of a self-serving hacker bent on ruining the game for his own delight. Hacking was inevitable. I feel we are lucky that the creator of the hack has willingly offered a solution to it.
