Afgelopen weekend zijn in Londen de winnaars van de Golden Joystick Awards van 2017 bekendgemaakt. De winnaars worden elk jaar gekozen door het publiek.
Tijdens de 35e editie van de Golden Joystick Awards was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild van Nintendo de grote winnaar van dit jaar. De action-adventure game kreeg de onderscheiding voor de ‘Ultimate Game of the Year’. Ook viel het in de prijzen voor Best Audio, Critics’ Choice Award en Nintendo Game of the Year.
Het ontwikkelingsteam van The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild liet tijdens een speech weten dat het “ongelooflijk vereerd” is voor het winnen van de prijzen.
Verder waren Horizon Zero Dawn, met drie prijzen en PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds en Cuphead, met beide twee prijzen, grote winnaars dit jaar.
