If you count more than five you may have a bit too many unnece ary programs running. Next, I want you to hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete just once. (Twice will restart your computer) How many things do you see listed? These are all the programs you have running right now. Some you may recognize some of them you may not, but rest a ured they are all having an affair with your CPU. Hit cancel now.Next, check your system resources. This is done by either going to the desktop and right clicking on My Computer and selecting properties, or you can take the shortcut by hitting the Windows and Pause/Break keys at the same time. Now click on the performance tab and check the system resources. What is that at? Pretty low I bet. Your target percentage is going to be anything higher than 85% just after a reboot. The higher that number, the faster and better things are going to be running. Every program that you open uses system resources. The more that are open, the le resources available to draw from. When you close a program it is supposed to give the resources back to the pool but this is often not the case.
