Afgelopen week kwam Vivendi met de aankonding van nog een game om het bedrijf uit het dal te trekken, in de vorm van Lord of the Rings: The Treason of Isengard. De console actie game voegt zich bij twee andere Lord of the Rings games die de uitgever al voor ons in petto heeft: de RTS War of the Ring en het wat vriendelijkere actie spel The Hobbit.

HomeLAN kreeg de kans om een persevenement te bezoeken waarop twee van deze games geshowd werden. Allereerst kreeg men een korte introductie van de wereld uit The Treason of Isengard, om vervolgens ook nog een aantal actie momenten uit War of the Ring te bekijken.Surreal Software, who handled the development chores on Fellowship of the Ring, is stepping in again for Treason of Isengard which is e entially their adaptation of Tolkien's The Two Towers novel (While the title comes from Tolkien's novel, the name change was mainly to keep any confusion away from EA's already released movie game with The Two Towers name). The game promises to improve over Fellowship by using an all new 3D engine and some improved gameplay options. The brief demo we witne ed during the pre even on a PS2 dev kit (the game will also be released on the Xbox) showed the trio of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli going after a bunch of orcs and other beasties in a forest setting.Het complete verslag is via de volgende link te lezen.
