VoodooExtreme plaatst tegenwoordig geloof ik iedere dag een interview met Epic's code-diehard Tim Sweeney, niet dat dat belangrijk is, maar toch. Vandaag stelde VE de vraag wat hij van het aankomende besturing ysteem Windows XP vind.

Sweeney verteld dat hij het OS de aflopen maand gebruikt heeft en hij behoorlijk onder de indruk is. "It is very stable, and it also looks refreshingly new and even artistic", volgens Tim. Het feit dat de OS zo lekker werkt komt voornamelijk door het combineren van de stabieliteit van Windows 2000, met goede game en driver support.

Een ander deel van de vraag was: "What do you think about the way Microsoft wants us to register this new OS?". They've always done their best to give us OS consumers the features we want. This is the first time I ever recall that they've done something that goes directly against customers' wishes.

It's hard to tell where this is headed. Either it's one of those bad ideas they undo after they realize it was a dumb move -- like Microsoft Bob, or Clippy.
