THQ kondigt vandaag een nieuw spel aan gebaseerd op de Evil Dead horrortrilogie, die in de jaren tachtig en begin jaren negentig furore maakte. Het spel zal de naam Evil Dead Regeneration dragen en gaat verder waar de film Evil Dead 2 ophield. Het verhaal gaat als volgt:Evil Dead Regeneration follows Ash, the lone survivor of a camp discovering the Necronomicon -- the wholly evil book of the dead. Thought to have murdered his companions, Ash is arrested, convicted of the crime, and sentenced to Sunny Meadows, an institute for the criminally insane, but not for long. Ash's peaceful stay is about to end -- thanks to the perverted experiments of his very own psychiatrist, Dr. Reinhard. Hell-bent on using science to harne the Necronomicon's powers, the mad doctor unleashes the book's all-powerful Evil on the world -- releasing a new slew of Deadites, monsters and spirits, twisting reality into a hellish strudel and leaving mankind with that not-so-fresh apocalyptic feeling.Als speler neem je de rol aan van Ash, wiens stem vertolkt zal worden door de acteur uit de film, Bruce Campbell. Buiten het verlenen van zijn stem is Bruce ook serieus betrokken bij de ontwikkeling van het spel. Hij geeft creatief advies en komt met nieuwe ideeën over toevoegingen aan het Evil Dead universum.

Over het spel zelf is inhoudelijk zo goed als niets bekend gemaakt. De ontwikkelaar van dienst is Cranky Pants Games en de release zou in de zomer van dit jaar plaats moeten vinden op PS2, Xbox en PC.
