Lord of the Rings, de rage van dit moment. Voor ongeveer elk platform komt wel een game uit en zo ook voor de GBA. Deze kleine handheld van Nintendo krijgt namelijke en RPG geba eerd op dit epische verhaal. Het geheel wordt ontwikkelt met een getweakte Army Men engine en zal volgens de makers de mooiste RPG op de GBA worden. Wil je meer weten dan heb je geluk want op CaVG kun je een interview vinden met de lead designer Tom Heaton.How would you describe the game?Heaton - It's an RPG from an isometric perspective, and you play all nine characters that are in the Lord of the Rings. You'll be able to group them and play as a party and they'll pretty much follow the events of the book. It's a very large game: we're dealing with everything from the start of the first book to the middle of the second book, which is the mid-point of the trilogy, and within that you'll get to visit every single area mentioned in the book. You've got Hobbitton, the Shire, the old forest - loads and loads of locations. Pretty much every character in the book you will meet in the game - there are a couple of minor characters who don't make it, but in general if it's in the book, it's in the game. Even though it's an RPG it won't be too numbers heavy - it won't be a Baldur's Gate. It's gonna be a very traditional console RPG in terms of character growth. We have a very, very good engine so it'll probably be the best-looking RPG on the GBA, and one of the best looking games full stop on the GBA.

Het ziet er in ieder geval al goed uit en volgens de makers zal het een zeer groot spel worden waarin je zowat elk persoon en elke locatie uit het boek zult tegenkomen, we wachten met smart af.
