Gisteren is na lang wachten eindelijk de Star Wars mod Galactic- Conquest voor BF1942 uitgekomen. De mod combineert de gameplay van BF1942 met de rijke Star Wars universum.

De mod bevat nog maar één map, maar wel één van de meest aansprekende veldslagen uit Star Wars. De Battle for Hoth kan namelijk worden nagespeeld. Inclusief ATST, de Millenium Falcon, speeders en meer. Totaal zitten er vijf voertuigen in de mod, wat in de toekomst uiteraard uitgebreid gaat worden.The Empire has located the Rebel Alliance base on the ice planet Hoth via one of many thousand probe droids despatched by the Empire. An Armada has set its course for the Hoth system. Unfortunately the armada of Star Destroyers have jumped out of light speed to close to Hoth and the Rebel Alliance have activated their shields.

The Rebel Alliance set up their defences at the trenches, manning the Anti-Personnel and Anti-vehicle cannons, their fingers itching to pull the trigger at the first site of an Imperial trooper. As the commander scans the horizon through his Electrobinoculars, he reports back to Echo Base

"Sir, 4 Imperial walkers heading from the north ridge"

As the walkers get closer, Speeders zoom over the trenches and the firsts shots are fired and so the Struggle for Hoth begins...De mod weegt een heftige 300 Mb en inmiddels is de eerste update al verschenen. Downloadlinks en informatie is te vinden op de official homepage
