In tegenstelling tot eerdere berichten heeft Sony op de PlayStation Meeting 2004 bekend gemaakt dat haar nieuwste console, de PlayStation 3, nog voor het einde van dit jaar onthuld zal worden. Volgens de planning die Sony Computer president Takeshi Kutaragi liet zien zou het nieuwe paradepaardje vervolgens in volledig speelbare vorm debuteren op de E3 2005 in Los Angeles. This certainly seems to put the pre ure on Microsoft to announce the Xbox succe or sooner. Could Microsoft use the upcoming X04 event to showcase the Xbox 2? Only time will tell, but things are definitely starting to heat up in the next round of console wars.
