Smedley laat weten dat het team achter PlanetSide 2 nog bezig is met testen en dat het momenteel nog niet "een gigantisch aantal mensen" op de servers wil laten. PlanetSide 2 staat namelijk gevechten van in totaal 2000 spelers toe, waarbij zij opgedeeld worden in drie facties.
