Electronic Arts heeft de boxcover van Battlefield 1942 - The Road to Rome vrijgegeven. Deze aanvulling biedt een zestal nieuwe mi ies die zich rond de strijd om Italië zullen afspelen. Natuurlijk heeft men naast nieuwe levels ook nog nieuwe voertuigen weten toe te voegen:Controllable vehicles are the heart of the Battlefield 1942 experience and The Road To Rome will feature eight new vehicles in addition to the more than 30 in the original title. These include the German BF-110 and British Mosquito twin-engine fighter-bombers. Also debuting are an Italian torpedo boat as well as British and German tanks and anti-tank guns. De aanvulling wordt op 7 februari 2003 in de winkels verwacht en zal de originele versie van Battlefield 1942 nodig hebben om te kunnen draaien.
