Latest Updates heeft een First look geschreven over de game Oni van Bungie. Pasgeleden is deze game gold gegaan en de demo is inmiddels ook al te downloaden.

Ik heb de demo ook zelf gespeeld en moet zeggen dat je veel bewegingen heb in het spel. Schoppen, slaan, schieten het maakt niet uit alles kan. Ik vond het eerste level van de demo zelf wat tegenvallen maar dat kan aan mij liggen.

The graphics are decidedly not cutting edge, but they are definitely suited to the game, and do it justice. The animations are slick and smooth, and I was not able to discern any 'jaggedne ' in the character movements. Bungie has implemented colour-coded auras to every punch, kick, and throw: a yellow aura demonstrates a normal hit, a blue aura is indicative of a block, and a red aura means that you have landed a very strong hit, or critical strike.

The combat controls are intuitive, with one button serving as punch, and the other as kick. Combo-hits and special moves are strung up à la Street Fighter through the combined use of the movement keys and the punch, kick, crouch and jump buttons. I have never found hand-to-hand combat games to work well on the PC, but Bungie seems to have pulled it off impeccably.

Heb jij ook het probleem met de demo dat als je hem opstart, zichzelf unzipped en als je er dan weer uitgaat hij zichzelf weer delete? Volgens Latest Updates moet je de game unzippen met Winzip of een ander programma. Op deze manier blijft de game op ze plek.
