Half-Life is inmiddels alweer ruim 2 jaar oud. Normaal gesproken zou na zo'n lange tijd niemand het meer spelen in de snel veranderende gameswereld. Maar toch blijft iedereen fanatiek de nieuwe mods spelen die voor dit spel uitkomen. Uncro ed Parallel is de zoveelste in het rijtje, en het ziet er (we vallen in herhaling) prachtig uit. De site van de modmakers wordt inmiddels gehost door Planet Half-LifeUncro able Parallel is a mi ion based teamplay shooter based on the Half-Life engine. The game is based on the life and duties of the Green Berets, and aims to offer a realistic simulation of the kind of situations the Berets face. Players will have to complete complex mi ions to succeed, with each of the planned 16 maps having radically different game modes.

The mod includes a very dominant cla system promoting team play and 30 real weapons with real fire modes. Teamplay, stealth, tactics and player skill will be important to survive in deadly combat environments. Most levels will be outdoors, and all will be very large. Players can pick their route through the surroundings rather than following a linear route towards the enemy. A host of additional features are planned for beta 1.0 such as open terrain maps, drivable vehicles, advanced text/voice communication system, 16 items of specialist equipment for different cla es, and AI bots for training to name a few.
