We hebben al een tijdje weinig over overnames gehoord. Maar vandaag wist Gamespy ons te melden dat Ubisoft Red Storm Entertainment wil overnemen. Red Storm Entertainment is vooral bekend van de Rainbow Six games. Van beide kanten wil men niet reageren. Ubisoft is putting the finishing touches on a deal that will see them acquire the North Carolina based Red Storm Entertainment, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. Red Storm is known for its Politika, Shadow Watch, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six games (including Rogue Spear).

A contributing factor to the proposed sale was the lull in PC sales and the uncertainty a ociated with the transition in the console market from current to future generation of hardware platforms, the sources said.

Both UbiSoft and Red Storm declined official comment.

The two companies have signed a letter of intent and are just reworking language and juggling some figures to finalize the deal. The deal should be complete by the end of the month, the sources said.
