Onlangs gaf Monolith, de ontwikkelaar van No One Lives Forever, Tron 2.0 en Aliens vs. Predator 2, een teaserplaatje van haar nieuwe game vrij. Er werd veel gespeculeerd welke game het zou worden en een aantal sites wisten zelfs met grote zekerheid te vertellen dat het No One Lives Forever 3 betrof. Dit blijkt nu echter niet het geval te zijn, want het spel draagt de naam F.E.A.R., wat staat voor First Encounter A ault and Recon en het achtergrondverhaaltje luidt als volgt:The story begins as an unidentified paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound. The government responds by sending in Special Forces, but loses contact as an eerie signal interrupts radio communications. When the interference subsides moments later, the team has been literally torn apart.
