The World of Monkey Island tells us that the design of Monkey Island 4 is led by veteran game designers Michael Stemmle and Sean Clark. There has been a lot of speculation on the subject lately. The design duo behind The Curse of Monkey Island split up when Jonathan Ackley left LucasArts to start a new company with his wife, several months after the game was released. Many fans suggested Tim Schafer, designer of Full Throttle and Grim Fandango, but he denied involvement in recent interviews. Besides contributions to the third Monkey Island game, Sean Clark and Mike Stemmle did programming together on Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and were co-designers of the cla ic adventure game Sam and Max Hit the Road. Clark also designed the sci-fi adventure The Dig, while Stemmle worked on several other non-adventure game projects.
