Mark Rein van Epic heeft vandaag antwoord gegeven op een aantal vragen van gamers over Unreal Tournament 2003. Vooral de benodigde hardware is voor gamers de grootste vraag. Zo raadt Mark Voodoo 5 eigenaren met een beperkt budget aan om voor een DirectX 9 videokaart te gaan, zodat ze volgend jaar ook Doom III kunnen spelen, en dat is erg collegiaal van Mark. Eigenaren van een Voodoo Banshee moeten wel upgraden, want UT2003 is niet compatible met deze kaart. Voor deze piepels zou een ATI 8500 of een GeForce 4 Ti 4200 erg geschikt zijn. Theoretisch zou een Voodoo 2 SLI setup voldoende zijn voor Unreal Tournament 2003, maar helaas ontbreekt het aan goede D3D drivers, zodat dit sprookje niet door kan gaan.Sandmanfvr--> I'm sorry if you didn't think I had fun playing the game on the TNT2 but I did. Maybe you wouldn't. I wasn't judging what you would think. I'm not one of those people hung up on playing the game with the details and resolution cranked up and the frame rate over 'x'. I just care about the gameplay being smooth and the frame rate not jumping all over the place. I've played more than a few games this year that even with their details turned down run a lot worse on on higher-end computers than UT2003 does on the test machine with the TNT2. BTW, 512x384 resolution (which the TNT does in the high teens) doesn't look terribly different than 640x480 which is an comparable resolution to what you see on a TV when you're playing console games. Some of you guys really need to get over this need to crank up the resolution. UT2003 has more detail on the screen than any PC game yet released regardle of whether your screen is at 640x480 or 1600x1200. When this game is two years old there will probably be graphics cards out there than can play the game with everything cranked up and a ton of action on the screen at 1280x1024x32bit at 95fps. But there aren't any machines like that right now just like there weren't any machines that could do that for UT when it shipped. That doesn't make the game any le than fun or ground-breaking than it is.Mark laat ons ook weten dat de demo GEEN editor zal bevatten. Al met al zijn we weer iets wijzer geworden over UT2003. Feit blijft wel dat je een stevige PC nodig hebt om het maximale uit dit spel te halen.
