GameSpot UK heeft een 3 pagina's tellend interview met Microsoft's Windows Product Manager, Mark Croft, online gezet. Er wordt Mark gevraagd wat Windows XP voor gamers kan betekenen en wat het gamers kan bieden. Mark verteld bijvoorbeeld dat er in Release Candidate 1 al een aantal drivers zit voor gaming hardware die in de beta's nog niet werkten. Daar komt bij dat Windows XP zeer stabiel is en veel hardware ondersteunt, en dat zijn 2 eigenschappen die zeer belangrijk zijn voor gamers.GSUK: So can you sum up how XP will benefit gamers?

MC: I personally suspect there's a lot of value to the gamer in having something that's just outright stable. If we can do a good enough job so that the games just run well, and get the performance up in the graphics area, this is worth doing. Knowing the way that gamers tend to upgrade their own PCs, and then go through and su things out, they can then build and configure truly good gaming systems around XP.
