Fans van shockrocker Marilyn Manson hebben binnenkort iets om naar uit te kijken. De populaire zanger zal namelijk een rol in de Playstation 2, Xbox en GameCube game Area 51 vertolken. Manson speelt een buitenaards wezen genaamd Edgar en geeft spelers tijdens het spel advies. De alien heeft, net als Manson, een hekel aan mensen, maar wil ze toch helpen. Iets waarin Manson zichzelf wel kon herkennen, zo laat hij in dit interview weten. Volgens deze "ideale schoonzoon", die toch wel iets gewend is, is Area 51 een behoorlijk eng spel. What makes you qualified to play someone so out of this world?Marilyn Manson: I think they had me in mind a little bit when they designed Edgar. The character, aside from its looks, is not that di imilar. He just kind of mocks people and has a general distaste for humankind. So it was kind of fun. At times I wanted to throw a little bit of the Grinch in there, or Mr. Slugworth from Willy Wonka. I was thinking also of the child-snatcher that always had the candy, from Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang. That's what I can identify with.
