Sindsdien zijn de geruchten niet uit de lucht over wie Eidos zal overnemen. Steeds klonk de naam van het franse Infogrames, die als één van de belangrijkste overnamekandidaten genoemd werd, maar die hebben aan Well Rounded Entertainment ontkend intere e te hebben in Eidos:
"I'm afraid it's just a rumor. Infogrames seems to be the first company to come to mind when there are acquisition rumors." aldus persvoorlichter Erica Krishnamurthy.
Volgens de geruchten blijven Havas en Microsoft als potentiële overnamekandidaten over.

The game publisher has confirmed that it is "in the early stages of discu ions which may or may not lead to an offer for the whole of the i ued share capital of Eidos."
