Independance War, ook wel bekend als Iwar was waarschijnlijk één van de eerste games waarbij de speler het commando kan nemen over de verschillende onderdelen van een ruimteschip. Wanneer de speler niet op een bepaalde plek aanwezig was nam de computer de taak over.

Daardoor werd het spel mi chien wel ingewikkeld, maar was er direct ook één van de meest complete space combatsims op de markt gezet.

Blijkbaar kan niet alles perfect zijn en dus plaatste de site ATFW een rapport over de beta-fase waarin Iwar2 nu beland is.We're working very, very, hard finishing the game at the moment.

The beta test has been very helpful, though we're surprised about how many people so quickly managed to get hold of the beta test version and managed to get it working, even though it was supposed to be a closed beta version.

We're slightly concerned that the beta test may give incorrect impre ions about the game as it's by no means final code, and represents only one part of a really huge game. There are a lot of single player gameplay features that aren't even hinted at in the beta test, as it's limited to the multiplayer portion only. Some users thought that the beta test was an official demo, so that's a concern too.

However we're very pleased with the favourable responses from those who did manage to get it working. We found out that there had been over 15,000 downloads of the beta test from 3D Files alone. Obviously people are keen to play the game!
