De Hostile Waters previews lijken wel uit de grond te springen te laatste tijd. Maar dat is niet voor niets. Hostile Waters zal volgens velen de goeie oude gameplay terugbrengen zoals we het 10 jaar geleden nog kenden. Of dit ooit zal lukken betwijfel ik om redenen die ik wellicht ooit in een column ga toelichten

Carrier Command let you take the helm of a giant aircraft carrier and attempt to wrest control of a vast sprawl of islands from the clutches of an almost identical yet morally suspect carrier. It was a great game yet, somehow, its theme was never taken up - unlike other real-time strategies - and so its unique gameplay style became nothing more than a fond memory. Until recently that is... Hostile Waters is shaping up to be the spiritual succe or of the great Carrier Command and its blend of first-person action and third-person strategy has both a refreshing and familiar feel to it

De graphics zijn niet spectaculair, maar dat maakt weinig uit, als de gameplay maar top-notch is!
