Met gepaste trots heeft LucasArts aangekondigd dat haar nieuwste geesteskindje Star Wars: Empire at War zijn goldstatus bereikt heeft. Dit houdt in dat het spel helemaal klaar is en er enkel nog cd'tjes geperst hoeven te worden, voordat het spel in de winkel te vinden zal zijn. Het is dus vrij zeker dat het spel zijn wereldwijde releasedatum van 16 februari zal gaan halen.

De RTS is ontwikkeld door Petroglyph, een ontwikkelstudio opgericht door ex-medewerkers van het legendarische Westwood Studios.
