It's a very rare game that actually runs any faster on a card with 64 megabytes than on one with 32, and even then it's only at the very highest resolutions. It would seem that making 64 MB standard on GeForce2 Ultra cards only serves to make a very expensive card even more expensive. But the GeForce2 Ultra is the first card we've used that consistently delivers very smooth and playable frame rates even at the extreme resolution of 1600x1200. Our Quake 3 Arena benchmark ran at a blazing 53 frames per second at that resolution, where a normal 32 MB GeForce2 only manages 37. Perhaps in a card that delivers such good frame rates at 1600x1200 an additional 32 MB of memory makes sense. Without a 32MB GeForce2 Ultra to test, it's hard to be certain.
