Nadat we kortgeleden konden lezen dat de Xbox het op het moment beter doet dan de GameCube in Engeland, komf DFC vandaag met cijfertjes die laten zien dat de GameCube in Amerika dan weer de meer verkopende console van de twee is. Ook zien we aan de cijfertjes dat Sony met haar 11,2 miljoen verkochte PlayStation2 units eenzaam bovenin staat. De GameCube staat nu op 2,7 miljoen verkochte units, de Xbox op 2,2.

While many reports have concluded that Microsoft's Xbox was in the lead, this report comes as rather a surprise saying that the GameCube is a whopping 500,000 units ahead of the Xbox.
What sets this report above the rest is its source. DFC Intelligence is no small company. Formed in 1995 they are a research group who focuses completely on the interactive media, such as videogames. Used by such companies as Sega and 3DO, DFC is a reliable source whose reports cost companies thousands of dollars and they even supply NPD with quarterly reports on the gaming industry. Definitief is het allemaal natuurlijk nog niet, het gat is immers niet echt groot. Daarbij gaat het er om of de spellen op een console leuk zijn, en niet om de uiteindelijke verkoopcijfers, al helpen die natuurlijk wel om de leuke spellen naar een platform te krijgen.
