Digital Illusions, bekend van onder andere Battlefield 1942 en RalliSport Challenge, breidt op het moment een einde aan het derde deel in de Midtown Madne serie.

De toevoeging van online play via Xbox Live moet van deze titel een hit gaan maken, maar ook de singleplayer krijgt de nodige aandacht volgens dit interview met Andreas Roman, lead designer van Midtown Madne 3.HomeLAN - What single player gameplay modes will be featured in the game?Andreas Roman - You'll have Cruise, where you just race around with no particular goals or restrictions. It's great for exploring the cities and finding hideouts. Then there's Blitz, where you race on a stretch against time with the car of your choice. And Checkpoint, where you go up against the AI and need to finish first to win. Finally, the main single player feature of the game, is the Work Undercover mode where you take on different a ignments as an undercover cop to unveil the plot going on. We've got one plot for Paris and one for Washington, they can be played separately and in no particular order, and you'll do lots of cool stuff here that you've never done in Midtown games - or open city racers for that matter - before.

Naast de bekende modes als Cruise en Blitz, is er nu dus ook een ware Undercover mode, iets dat we natuurlijk maar al te goed kennen uit de Driver games. Midtown Madne 3 zal exclusief voor de Xbox verschijnen en wordt in Europa verwacht op 11 juli.
