IGN kreeg de kans om alvast te spelen met de aankomende Gamecube platform/fighting game Viewtiful Joe. Viewtiful Joe is een side-scrolling platformgame die op slimme wijze gebruik maakt van 3D en cel-shading technieken. Als we de mensen bij IGN mogen geloven zal Viewtiful Joe onze stoutste verwachtingen overtreffen. De eindconclusie van IGN doet mening Gamecube bezitter alvast met veel verlangen naar de game uitkijken:Viewtiful Joe has gone from being an interesting novelty to one of, if not my most anticipated game, period. I truly can't wait to grab hold of the controller again, slow time, rip through a series of enemies, and summersault my way over a series of hanging chandeliers, all with a style and grace that only Joe can deliver. You're probably not going to fully grasp what I'm talking about yet. That's okay. Download some of the movies. Check out some of the screens. You'll be excited anyway. Viewtiful Joe komt in maart reeds in Japan uit en in de zomer in Amerika. Europa zal waarschijnlijk in de tweede helft van het jaar een keer aan de beurt zijn. Gelukkig heeft men bij IGN ook wat nieuwe filmpjes klaarstaan uit het spel zodat je alvast kan zien waarom men er zo positief over is.
