Infogrames kondigt trots aan dat ze het spel gebaseerd op de blockbuster film uit 1999 The Matrix op alle next-generation consoles (Gamecube, Xbox en PS2) en ook op de PC gaan uitbrengen. Het spel, dat Enter The Matrix gaat heten, wordt ontwikkeld door Shiny Entertainment, dat op Sceince Fiction gebied al ervaring heeft met de actiegame MDK. "THE MATRIX redefined the action genre for the film industry and movie audiences, and the never-before-seen gameplay and technology behind Enter The Matrix will redefine next-generation video games," said Bruno Bonnell, Chairman and CEO of Infogrames. "There has been extensive creative cro over that has taken place in the development of the film and the game. Warner Bros., Joel Silver, the film's producer, and Larry and Andy Wachowski, the film's writers, creators, and directors, have clearly shown their appreciation for the connection between the interactive world and THE MATRIX audiences. We are thrilled to unite the two with the screening in our E3 booth of the first official trailer for THE MATRIX RELOADED and THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS."Het spel zal vlak voor de films uitgebracht worden. Infogrames is er trots op dat ze op hun E3 booth ook de wereldpremiere van de trailer van de films hebben. Of dit hetzelfde filmpje is als de trailer die onlangs online stond is de vraag, want dan is er in ieder geval van de exclusiviteit veel verloren gegaan. De release staat voor mei 2003, nog een jaartje wachten en ze zullen zien of de game net zo revolutionair gaat worden als de film.
