Patches die eerder uitkomen dan de game zelf, het moet niet gekker worden. Ook Lionhead weet het weer eens zo ver te schoppen. Onlangs is de patch van het aankomende god-spel Black & White 2 uitgekomen, welke het spel naar versie 1.1 brengt. In deze tamelijk grote update worden een aantal i ues opgelost die helaas te laat werden opgemerkt. Ook heeft Lionhead hier en daar wat balancing tweaks gemaakt om zo de gameplay te bevorderen.Here at Lionhead, we wanted a 'Black & White 2' patch ready for the launch date. Today is the official launch date so as promised, after many sleeple days and nights; the v1.1 B&W 2 patch is available here. This patch addre es a few i ues that were found after shipping the game to the manufacturer, as well as a few balancing tweaks that we feel really improve the Gameplay in the Lands. The exact changes, along with the known i ues and installation procedure, can be found in the 'ReadMe' with the patch, or at the above download location.

A known i ue with this patch is with the save system. Save games from the retail version of Black & White 2 (i.e. Version 1.0), are not compatible with the v1.1 patch. If you have old save games, it is recommended that they are removed from your 'My Documents'->'Black & White 2'->'Profiles' folder before starting a new game with the patch. This will then prevent any conflicting problems between the two sets of save games. The above procedure isn't vital, it is just advised. The patch is not vital either.Hoewel de patch niet cruciaal is voor het spelen van de game, wordt wel aangeraden om deze toch te installeren. Niet dat wij in Nederland hier wat aan hebben, daar Black & White 2 pas 14 oktober hier zal verschijnen en je de game dus nog niet kan spelen (tenzij je illegaal bezig bent geweest). Let er overigens wel op dat deze patch niet compatible is met versie 1.0. Oude save-games kunnen derhalve niet meer werken.
