De officiele Rise of Nations pagina is geupdate met twee nieuwe E3 trailers. Rise of Nations is een RTS game, maar heeft ook de nodige strategy elementen. Niet verwonderlijk, want het spel is bedacht door Brian Reynolds, de man achter Civilization II en Alpha Centauri. De filmpjes die nu zijn verschenen waren eerder te bewonderen op de afgelopen E3 en laten wat in-game actie zien.Rise of Nations™ carries the sweeping scope of epic historical turn-based strategy games, but gives the player the quick decision-making of real-time games such as Age of Empires.

The game brings to life the entire sweep of human culture, from the late Stone Age to modern-day technology—not just in warfare, but in city building, trade, and diplomacy. Gamers will be able to move through the game timeline quickly and have a satisfying game experience without playing for hours. Rise of Nations lijkt op het eerste gezicht veel op Age of Empires 2, Empire Earth en zelfs Co acks. Op welk spel de gameplay zal lijken weten we begin 2003 wanneer het spel uitkomt.
