Deus Ex SDK interview | Gamer.nl

No Man's Sky uitgebracht.

Jonric: What will be included in the SDK? What degree of programming or other technical knowledge is required to use the tools effectively?

Harvey Smith: Our SDK will include the DX version of UnrealEd (with the ability to drop all our DX objects and characters), ConEdit (our conversation/flag system editor) and some supporting docs. These are the exact tools we used to make DX, with the exception of some minor bug fixes, I believe. Technical or programming skills always help, but those skills would mostly be needed for making mods, new weapons, adding new skills or creating mini games. Art talent and understanding of the technical limits are critical for creating good-looking world content. (For DX mods, understanding of technical bottlenecks will be key.) Of course, design instincts and skills greatly help in all cases, from programmed features to mini game rules to map gameplay.
