Steve Grammont and Madmatt - Not true. There are MANY huge selling turn based games, like Civilization and Masters of Orion for example. While sales of these games aren’t as strong as some of the other genres out there (first person shooters, RTS, etc.) the potential audience is far too big to be considered "niche". Traditionally the reasons why wargames specifically have been branded "niche" had nothing to do with their turn based foundation. Instead, poor graphics, clunky interface, obscured
information, and lack luster game environments have kept wargaming from being le than a niche. Some have said that the subject matter itself is the problem, but games like Panzer General and Combat Mi ion totally blow that theory out of the water.
