De CEO van Activision, Robert Kotnick, is nogal sceptisch over de XBox. Hij denkt dat Microsoft geen enkele markt in één keer kan binnendringen, en dat de XBox in eerste instantie dus zal mislukken. Wat hij volgens mij echter niet meerekent is dat Microsoft al veel ervaring heeft in de gaming industrie.Denk maar aan spellen zoals Age of Empires en de velen Flightsims. Hier het zegje van meneer Kotnick zelf:"Microsoft is sort of an interesting competitor. Microsoft has never been known for getting it right on the first try, and I don't think that the X-Box is going to be any different from their application products or some of their operating system products. It will be a very iterative proce for them. I think they'll introduce X-Box and learn a lot. When X-Box 2 comes out, they'll have a lot more succe , and when X-Box 3 comes, they'll probably be the leader. But that's a 10-year period probably."
