Broken Sword 3 voor de PC, PS2 en XBox komt eraan, maar Revolution Software is met nog een ander leuk project bezig. Namelijk Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars op de GameBoy Advance. Mijn favoriete adventure komt op de GBA, meteen een reden om deze 'gamehandheld' te kopen. Revolution Software has today announced that the original Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars has been succe fully prototyped for Game Boy Advance and will now enter full development – with a completion date scheduled for the end of the this year.

The graphic adventure – first released in 1997, to huge critical acclaim – has sold over a million copies on PC and PlayStation, and is the most succe ful European-developed game of its genre. In it, gamers meet George Stobbard and Nico as they team up to thwart the cataclysmic climax to a conspiracy that has run through the centuries. Als je de screenshots hier ziet dan valt het op dat het beeld grafisch gezien nieteens zo slecht eruit ziet. Het ziet er (natuurlijk) alleen wat kleiner uit dan op je 17 inch monitor. Ook vraag ik me af hoe Revolution het probleem van het gebrek aan een muis op de GBA gaat oplo en terwijl Broken Sword een point-and-click-adventure is. Het ziet er in ieder geval leuk uit en mi chien is dit een impuls om het adventure genre nieuw leven in te blazen?

Rond de kerst dit jaar kunnen we op clownsjacht want dan hoopt Revolution, Broken Sword voor de GBA uit te brengen, olé!
