Blizzard heeft zojuist World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade uit de doeken gedaan, de eerste aanvulling voor de immens populaire MMORPG. De aanvulling voegt heel wat nieuwe dingen toe aan de wereld van Warcraft. Allereerst kun je nu stijgen tot level 70, waardoor je weer heel wat uurtjes zoet bent voordat je aan het maximale niveau zit. Er zijn twee nieuwe ra en aan het spel toegevoegd, waaronder de Blood Elves. Een nieuw beroep is er in de vorm van Jewelcrafting.

Ook de wereld zelf is uitgebreid, met een geheel nieuw continent genaamd The Outland. Dit deel van de wereld is via het Dark Portal te bereiken. Je kunt honderden nieuwe quests en voorwerpen verwachten en ook talrijke nieuwe monsters, waaronder gigantische 'world bo es'. Speciale high-level dungeon's zijn toegevoegd aan zowel Azeroth als The Outland. Several years have pa ed since the Burning Legion's defeat at Mount Hyjal and the races of Azeroth have continued to rebuild their once shattered lives. With renewed strength, the heroes of the Horde and Alliance have begun to explore new lands and broken through the Dark Portal to investigate the realms beyond the known world. Wanneer de aanvulling op de markt komt is nog niet bekend, maar Blizzard mikt wel op een gelijktijdige release wereldwijd.
