Er is eindelijk weer eens nieuws over de Android bot. Na lange tijd zonder update van zowel de website als van de bot zelf komt DaTa met een update van zijn bot.

Verwacht echter niet te veel, want deze versie is eigenlijk niet veel meer dan een compability update, waarbij een waypoint editor zit...It has been a long time since the last update.. my apologies for that. I have been very busy and still am, I'm in the middle of a move to my new room, but since CS 1.0 has just been released, I have made some time to update the Android bot to make it compatible with CS 1.0, and while I was at it, I have also included the waypoint-editor in this version.

This new version, which is called Android alpha 2.2 is fully compatible with CS 1.0, the three new weapons and new player models. It also has some small bug-fixes, but the main new feature is the waypoint-editor. This is a very primitive editor which I used to create the waypoints for the three maps. I haven't changed anything to it to make it more user-friendly, so you probably need some experience with waypoints in order to use it. The editor, it's commands and the waypoint system are briefly explained in the readme in the section "Using the waypoint editor". I have only included a brief description, so again you may need some experience with waypoints to understand it.

The new version and the readme are available from the downloads section as usual. Jammer, jammer, ik had toch echt gehoopt op wat meer map support van de maker zelf en op verbetering van de AI. Ook een volgende update zal nog wel even duren:The next version will probably take a lot of time before it is ready, so don't expect anything soon.

Oftewel, we mogen zelf aan de slag met waypoints en weer een tijdje verder zonder uitzicht op een volgende versie... Ik vraag me af hoe lang de Android op deze manier zijn "Advanced" status kan behouden met de komst van bots die zelf waypoints genereren...
