In order to cope with the situation, some retailers are forcing customers to purchase PlayStation2 packages including the system and 4-5 games. Other retailers are planning to charge premiums on the PlayStation2 hardware itself, raising the price from $299 to $350 or even $399.

Voor een grote keten als Free Record Shop of Bart Smit zal dit niet zo'n probleem zijn, maar kleine speciaalzaken zoals Games R Fun en Dimension Plus zullen deze regeling waarschijnlijk niet zo op prijs stellen!
